One great benefit of the Internet is the capability to connect remotely to another computer, and operate it as if you were sitting in front of it; "Remote Control".

It only takes a few seconds for me to connect to your computer and start troubleshooting, if you need a problem solved right away, or, I can connect and address a problem at a later time when you don't need to be using the computer.
I can connect to computers periodically to perform routine maintenance or monitoring.
I can install software to automatically monitor servers and PC's, and alert me to impending or immediate trouble.

ShowMyPC is a free utility you can use to enable secure, temporary remote control of a computer. After you reach me by phone, it takes less than five minutes to set up.

Click "Show My PC to Remote User", and follow the prompts to download and run the program.
Click the "Show My PC Now" button, tell me the password, and I'll connect to your PC.
When I'm done, I exit from the program, and the door to your PC is closed. A new password is needed to connect again.

is a robust system for remote control over the Internet. LogMeIn Free provides basic, secure remote control. LogMe In Pro offers enhanced service for a low monthly or annual fee.

LogMeIn is more involved to set up than ShowMyPC, but once set up it's easier to use, and performance and reliability are much better. I can use ShowMyPC to install LogMeIn on your PC.

I connect to many of my clients' PCs through my LogMeIn account. Other clients have their own LogMeIn accounts, and they give me a password when I need to access their computers.
